What makes a relationship last?

Most people engage of some kind of romantic relationship during high school.  However, some people end up marrying their high school sweetheart, while others go through countless relationships that don't last.  What separates the relationships that last from the relationships that don't?  Is it just a matter of finding the right person, or is it that some teenagers just don't yet have the patience and maturity do make this type of intimiate relationship work?  What do people think?

I really love your reasoning there. Honestly, I do think that patience and maturity is the key to a good relationship, and also getting to KNOW the guy/girl before you date them - Of course, lots of people go out with others because they're hot or cute or whatever. And, even people who know someone for a while before they date them easily get frustrated and break-up, or have peer pressure on them, making them more likely to stray away. Some people just aren't ready for relationships for a really long time, while others have probably dated like 30 guys before finding their love.
